Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the party access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to head to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
